Brian Wagner

My name is Brian Wagner, I'm from Daytona Beach FL, and I love filmmaking and telling stories. Just like the great Spike Lee once said, "I didn't find film, Film found me." I was born and raised in Gainesville FL, and for the longest time I wanted to be in a band and tour everywhere. I've been playing drums for 15 years of my life so I always thought that was my purpose. As a young kid, I had a huge love for the Beatles and the Monkees music. My other love other than music back then was Jim Henson and his Muppets. I believe watching the Muppet show and all the Muppet movies that came after shined a light on my love for film, and then after viewing Star Wars for the first time that was it. My dad and both my grandfathers also played a big role in my love for movies by showing me a lot of the classics.

Once I started watching more movies over the years, I really started to gravitate towards the art of filmmaking. The more I watched the more I wanted to learn about how a movie was made. After a couple years of doing normal college courses to earn a basic degree, I decided to enroll in the Digital Media program at Santa Fe college. That program taught me how to use a digital camera and other video skills like editing. Now I've been chasing the dream to become a director by making my own short films, (some include puppeteering), meeting lots of creative and awesome people in the independent scene, and most recently I have found my love for writing scripts. I just want to thank all the people I have met on this journey so far for having me on their movie sets, creating new friends that share the same love, and how they have helped show me how a movie is properly made.
